Dear Families,
We are so happy to be back in the K.P.S. PreK/Kindergarten class this year! We had such an incredible time working with the kids last year and are looking forward to meeting all the new students and getting started on some exciting new projects and activities this year.
For those of you who do not know me, this will be my fourth year at Kauai Pacific School. I taught kindergarten my first year at KPS followed by a Kindergarten/First grade split class. Last year I taught a Pre-K/Kindergarten combo class and am excited to teach this combo again with so many familiar faces! We had a great group of children last year and I know they will be great helpers in welcoming our new friends into our ohana!
Before teaching at KPS I worked in Indiana as a Kindergarten teacher for 6 years and a First grade teacher for 2. When we moved to Cincinnati I stayed home with my daughter but still kept close ties with the school. I was very involved as the PTO President, PTO VP of Public Relations and co-leading a Brownie Troupe. As my daughter got a little older I went to work as a preschool teacher part time so that I could still be involved in her school. She is now 17 and is happy I am working full time and not at her school all the time!
Laura has been at KPS for eight years. She has worked as the front office manager, a 1st grade teacher and the PreK/K classrooom assistant. In the past she worked many years as a preschool teacher at Menehune school in Hanalei.
